Queues for most visas are growing and the system is groaning under the weight of more applications arriving than were forecast. There is no immediate solution in sight despite online visa applications giving the impression it is easier and faster.
Some tips:
- Apply at least 3 months ahead of intended arrival date if you are offshore.
- Apply at least 2 months ahead of your visa expiry date if onshore.
- Get passport photos taken by a professional photo service or use a quality smart phone app (there are heaps to choose from).
- Don’t take shortcuts with documents. Include everything required.
- Use a reputable licensed immigration adviser – it will save you time, money and stress!
