Visa policy changes

We signaled earlier the government plans to change the rules around visas and make the process more employer driven (mandatory employer accreditation).

We signaled earlier the government plans to change the rules around work visas and make the process more employer driven (mandatory employer accreditation/registration in order to recruit migrant labour; significant hikes in minimum pay rates in some cases; upfront labour market testing etc). The new policy is now before cabinet for a final decision. The Minister announced last Friday a decision is expected in around two months.
