If you or your any staff are travelling on business (as unlikely as this may seem), or you are bringing people to New Zealand here are some key points to keep top of mind.
- Travellers to New Zealand must complete 14 days of managed isolation and/or mandatory quarantine on arrival.
- A new system requires everyone to register online and secure a place in managed isolation before checking in for any flight to New Zealand.
- A voucher is issued confirming a place in managed isolation has been allocated. The voucher is then presented at the airline check in desk (either printed or on a mobile device).
- A grace period runs from 5 October until 11.59pm (NZ time) 2 November 2020 where check in is possible without a voucher (but expect delays at check in). After 3 November 2020, the voucher system is mandatory (unless someone is exempt from using the Managed Isolation Allocation System). Airline check in will be refused if a voucher is not held.
- Apply online for a place in managed isolation and read more (including if your business will need to pay any costs for isolation) at https://allocation.miq.govt.nz/portal/
