Keep a record of work visa expiry dates. Remind staff to apply at least 3 months before the visa expiry date.
Review your company Employment Agreements at least once a year. The new domestic violence leave allowance, upcoming increases to sick leave allowances and future amendments to the Holidays Act can be reasons for work visa applications being delayed or declined if these are not incorporated into Employment Agreements. Keep up with employment law changes.
Start planning for the increase in the minimum wage to $20 per hour from 1 April 2021.
